The Association of Women Executives in Corrections (AWEC) welcomes you to our website. Since our charter in 1996, AWEC has operated to offer opportunities and support to top women executives and senior managers in corrections and to mentor emerging leaders, consistent with its “each one . . . teach one” philosophy. AWEC is over 200 members strong, with members throughout the country in public and private, institutional and community correctional facilities.
This is an awesome family of women who are always caring and nurturing. In the corrections environment, you don’t always get that.

I am a member of AWEC because I find the support I receive from it’s members phenomenal. I am surrounded by male jail administrators who are very supported, but it pales to the connection I receive from my female counterparts.
